I’ll be the first one to tell you I was so hesitant to jump on the biker shorts trend. I felt like they reminded me of my awkward middle school days when I used to wear these Aeropostale plaid bermuda shorts (I think even I popped my Hollister polo collar too! Who let me leave the house like that?! ha!). I can definitely say without hesitation that Summer ’21 has been the year of the biker shorts. I’ve worn them EVERYWHERE and paired them with EVERYTHING!

Before you splurge on a pair, know that there are tons of options. I love biker shorts by Under Armour, Athleta, and Old Navy. However, before I jumped on the biker shorts trend, there were a few things I considered.

1) Do I want pockets? – ABSOLUTELY!
2) How long should they be? – I opted for just above the knee
3) Did I care about logos? – Not really, but I would rather they weren’t in an awkward place (UA puts their logo right on the thigh…a little aggressive for my taste, personally)

I always opt for my Under Armour biker shorts when I’m riding my Peloton. I love how lightweight and flexible they are. My only criticism is that I wish there were pockets. If I’m not on the bike, I will always opt for the Athleta Salutation Stash biker shorts. They are so comfortable, and I love the fit! Of course, I’m a little biased due to my obsession with their Salutation Stash Pocket leggings (the best leggings I’ve ever worn). The Athleta biker shorts are definitely on the pricer side of things, but nothing beats the fit. They hug you in all of the right places without feeling like you’re wearing anything at all.
